Meller has introduced a new project called Meller Lab. This is an experimental space for the brand. The first design from this lab is named Project 01.

The idea behind Meller Lab is simple. It is a place to share designs in their original form, before they are changed for a wider audience. The process is the focus. The campaign shows this with a clinical, surgical feel, where the glasses are put together on a table like precise instruments.

Project 01 began with a clear question. The designers asked how 1990s sports style could be made more technical and current. The result is a metal frame that sits away from the face, with a visible gap on each side of the lenses. Nothing on the design is for decoration. Every part has a job. The glasses come in three colors: Silver, Mauve, and Yellow. You can choose a lens with full coverage or a transparent look.

They are made from metal with nylon lenses and matte acetate temples. The design is for people who are always moving, and it is made to be seen. The stock is limited, and a pair costs £69. This is Meller’s first experiment: a functional and intentional piece of eyewear, released just as it was first imagined.
