Martin Quad brought Woodman Pt. 2 to Berlin Fashion Week as part of Intervention by Reference Studios, reworking the operatic presentation first staged in Milan on 19 June. The collection draws from the work of Francesca Woodman, the late American photographer whose images often doubled and displaced the body. Mirroring becomes both a visual reference and a method of construction.
The performance is set to an operatic score by creative director Martin Juncker and Copenhagen-based composer Soli City, with set design by Kristian Kirk of inter.agcy and styling by Berlin’s Tim Heyduck. The show offered a new interpretation of the collection’s themes, tighter and more focused than its Milan debut.
