Maison Margiela’s New Sprinters Sneaker

Maison Margiela’s latest sneaker, the Sprinters, isn’t trying to look brand new, and that’s the point. Part of the Spring/Summer 2025 Avant-Première Collection, the shoe takes inspiration from mid-century track runners but gives them Margiela’s signature deconstructed touch. Each pair is hand-treated to look worn-in, making no two exactly alike.
Built for speed in more ways than one, the Sprinters mix smooth calfskin, suede, and vintage nylon in a collage-like upper, all sitting on a spiked rubber sole for grip and comfort. The sole also hides a subtle Margiela signature: embossed numeric codes, leaving a branded footprint with every step.
The colorways play with nostalgia. The first drop includes black and white, pale yellows, and kiwi green with blue accent tones that recall old sports jerseys and even gardening gear (a nod to the collection’s broader theme). Later, in June 2025, darker autumn-ready shades like oxblood and deep green will arrive.
