Maison Margiela‘s co-ed Spring/Summer 2027 collection is a study of hard and soft, two elements essential to the design and construction of garments and accessories. Hardness is added to archetypal pieces, creating fresh possibilities for silhouette, while draping is given new foundations from which to flow.

The research draws from the traditions of Parisian ateliers, separated between Tailoring, responsible for structural garments, and Flou, for dressmaking and draping. Here, those couture practices are reappropriated for a ready-to-wear show, continuing the house’s project of rereading fashion history and the systems that ground it.
