Magliano and VEJA have collaborated on a new version of the Panenka sneaker. The shoe takes cues from vintage football boots and applies them to something meant for everyday wear.

The main change is on the tongue. It folds over the front of the shoe, perforated and made from a single piece, like the cleats footballers used to wear. That flap allows for asymmetric lacing. Three pairs of laces come with the shoes, so you can mix colors and create your own combinations. The idea plays with contrast, something Magliano often does. Three colorways are available. Black with cream accents. White with black details. And a pearlescent pink version that stands out.

VEJA kept its own branding in the background this time. The Magliano logo takes the front. It is a way to let the Bolognese brand’s identity come through while giving the Panenka a different feel.
