LỰU ĐẠN is releasing a collaboration with Bruce Lee Enterprises this May, timed to AAPI month.

Bruce Lee was the first figure on LỰU ĐẠN’s first moodboard, before the brand even had a name. Founder Hung La calls him a North Star. Watching the ESPN documentary Be Water, La learned the full story behind the icon he grew up with: Hollywood passed Lee over for subordinate roles because he was Asian, so Lee bet on himself, moved to Hong Kong, and became a star on his own terms. That act of self-authorship mirrored what La wanted LỰU ĐẠN to express. The bond is personal. As a child, La sat watching Enter the Dragon with his father and saw a reflection of identity and possibility. The collaboration was sparked when Be Water director Bao Nguyen visited the LỰU ĐẠN showroom in 2023. The two later reconnected, discovered they grew up fifteen minutes apart in Maryland, and Nguyen introduced La to Bruce Lee Enterprises.

The capsule draws from Lee’s full visual language: athletic training gear, 1970s bell-bottoms, the graphic intensity of film posters. Key pieces include a motorcycle version of his yellow jumpsuit, a ringer tee, and a Bruce Lee belt. Unable to cast anyone who could match Lee’s presence, the brand worked directly with archival imagery, using AI and digital retouching to place the collection onto the man who defined it. The release lands during what LỰU ĐẠN is calling Bruce Lee month and coincides with the brand’s tenth collection, All Bets Are Off, which celebrates men who have paid their dues and taken ownership over their existence. Bruce Lee remains the prototype.
