There are plenty of ways to celebrate Pride. Some are loud. Some are political. Some are commercial. And then there are the rare occasions when fashion, art, nightlife and queer community naturally collide, creating something that feels less like an event and more like a snapshot of a city at its most alive. This weekend, The Barcelona EDITION and Fucking Young! Magazine hosted a Pride Brunch that did exactly that.
The hotel’s façade became the canvas for an exclusive vinyl installation conceived by Barcelona-based artists Asis Percales and GecoGeco, a creative duo who also happen to be partners in life. Their intervention transformed the building into a public declaration of colour, diversity and visibility.

Inside, the atmosphere felt less like a hotel gathering and more like the living room of Barcelona’s creative scene. Artists, photographers, stylists, designers, editors, musicians and familiar faces from the city’s cultural ecosystem mingled over brunch, cocktails and conversations that effortlessly drifted between fashion, politics, nightlife and summer plans.
The guest list read like a cross-section of Barcelona’s contemporary creative scene. Among those gathered were designer Victor von Schwarz; RUBEARTH founder Gabriel Nogueiras; Domingo Rodríguez and Aleix Moyano, the duo behind DOMINNICO; stylist Jaume Miró; musician Carletto V.; 3D artist Cornel Doornebosch; Photographer and creative director Daniel Garzee; Fucking Young! founder and director Edu García; fashion director Sam Savage and ballroom pioneer Jaycee, founder of Ballroom Encounters. Rather than feeling like a who’s who, the crowd reflected the city’s increasingly fluid creative ecosystem, where fashion, music, digital art, performance and queer culture constantly overlap, collaborate and evolve.

Hosting the celebration was Pitita Queen, winner of Drag Race Spain, whose sharp humour and magnetic stage presence anchored the afternoon before giving way to a series of drag performances that injected the room with exactly the kind of unapologetic energy Pride deserves. There was no separation between audience and performers—just a shared celebration where spectacle and community existed side by side.
Providing the soundtrack was Barcelona favourite Loli Zazou, whose eclectic DJ set moved seamlessly through house, disco and pop edits, keeping the crowd in constant motion without ever overwhelming the easy rhythm of a long Sunday brunch.

Beyond the celebration, the collaboration carried a tangible commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community. Throughout Pride, The Barcelona EDITION is serving “PINK CHEEKS” a limited-edition Pride cocktail created by Andreas Lester, Head Bartender at Veraz, with proceeds benefiting AHORA DÓNDE – Le Refuge, an organisation supporting LGBTQIA+ young people experiencing family rejection and homelessness. In a week often saturated with rainbow branding, initiatives that translate visibility into direct support feel particularly meaningful. Vibrant, expressive and full of flavor, you can taste the limited-edition Pride cocktail at Veraz, Punch Room and The ROOF, until July 31.
The collaboration between The Barcelona EDITION and Fucking Young! felt particularly fitting. Both have long cultivated spaces where creativity is less about exclusivity than about curiosity, bringing together emerging voices alongside established names. Pride, in that sense, became less of a marketing moment and more of an excuse to celebrate the people already shaping the city’s cultural identity while giving something back to those who need it most.
