Loewe has released a new version of one of its most recognized bags, the Amazona 180, designed by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for their first runway collection as creative directors. The name marks the house’s 180th anniversary while revisiting a shape that has been around for five decades.

The original Amazona came out in 1975. The bag moved away from stiff, ornate styles toward something softer and more practical for daily life. The first one was gold suede with brown leather trim and carried the newly created Anagram logo. It was part of a collection called Ante Oro that introduced Loewe’s first soft bags. The colors and proportions have shifted over the years, but the natural feel has stayed.

The new version keeps that spirit. It is made from a calfskin developed specifically for this model, soft with a slight sheen and silky touch. The silhouette is relaxed with a single rounded top handle. The bag is double-sided and meant to be carried open, revealing a new double-L logo that will start appearing across the house’s categories. A hidden magnetic closure keeps things secure without disrupting the look. Craftsmanship shows in the details. Two precisely assembled compartments balance structure and flexibility. Leather piping runs through. The domed squares on each side are signature Amazona. There is a flat interior pocket and a D-ring on the left for personalization. Carrying options depend on the size. Short handle, removable shoulder strap, crossbody. The idea is versatility across seasons and situations.

The Amazona 180 comes in soft calfskin or suede. Colors include Black, Dark Brown, Royal Azure, Ink Navy, Daisy Yellow, Lava Gray, White, and the original gold and chocolate combination for suede. Three sizes are available: Mini, Small, and Large. A line of charms completes the collection.
