Libertine marked its 25th anniversary with a Spring/Summer 2027 runway show at New York Fashion Week. Titled Out of the Chaos and Into the Garden, the collection is an invitation to get lost in the flowers, forget the rules, and come out a little more human.

For a quarter century, Libertine has stayed fiercely independent, forging its own path while its ideas reverberated far beyond its size. The show celebrated that run with signature pieces: Warholian butterflies on ivory silk, a Bloomsbury-esque patchwork on linen, and a drop-cloth print inspired by the paint-splattered cloths designer Johnson Hartig noticed while his foyer was being painted. Giant paillette butterflies, hand-silkscreened garden tools, and a topiary coat hand-embroidered with double boxwood in Versailles boxes completed the collection. Twenty-five years on, Hartig remains guided by curiosity and instinct.
