Levi’s® and sacai Redefine Denim with New Collaboration
by Adriano Batista
Levi’s® and Japanese fashion label sacai have joined forces to rework classic denim styles, blending Levi’s® heritage with sacai’s experimental design philosophy. The result is a collection that twists familiar shapes into something fresh and unexpected, staying true to sacai designer Chitose Abe’s talent for reinventing everyday clothing.
For men, the Denim Jacket keeps vintage Levi’s® details like gold “sunspot” buttons, while the Reversible Blouson switches between a tailored exterior and a jacket-inspired interior, complete with selvedge trim and sacai’s anchor buttons. Two reversible smocks (one in indigo with black, the other in blue with khaki) hide a Type II jacket inside, featuring pleats and chest pockets.
Unisex styles round out the collection, including Denim Pants with an ultra-relaxed fit, a mid-rise, and seven pockets, adding welt pockets over the classic back ones. A reversible belt, half-denim, half-grosgrain, ties the look together.
The campaign channels James Dean’s rebellious energy, mirroring the themes of sacai’s Spring/Summer 2025 collections. Starring Chandler Frye, the images (shot by Craig McDean and styled by Karl Templer) capture the mix of raw edge and sophistication that defines both brands.

The collection launches first at pop-ups in Selfridges (May 26) and Landmark Hong Kong (May 27), followed by a global release on May 28 via Levi.com, the Levi’s® app, select stores, and sacai retailers.
