Levi’s and Jordan Present the Air Jordan 3
by Adriano Batista
Levi’s and Jordan have released a new collaborative collection. The centerpiece is a reimagined Air Jordan 3 sneaker, presented in four unique versions.
The Rigid version uses premium indigo denim panels on the upper with a black elephant print. The Black version features black grained leather and denim with a sail midsole. A Year of the Horse edition, releasing for the Lunar New Year in Asia, uses unbleached ecru denim and pony hair with red chain-stitch embroidery. An LA Exclusive edition for NBA All-Star Weekend uses grained leather and blue denim, with “City of Angels” embroidered inside. All styles feature a Levi’s Red Tab on the right shoe and co-branded details.
The apparel collection includes nine pieces. A Football Jersey has a cropped, boxy fit. A detailed Varsity Jacket combines leather sleeves with a melton wool body and vintage graphics, including a patch nodding to Michael Jordan’s Bulls legacy. A Type III Trucker Jacket gets an oversized Wings logo on the back. There is also an Overshirt Jacket, a Fleece Zip Hoodie, and a Short Sleeve Shirt reviving Levi’s classic “Button Your Fly” graphic from a 1990s Spike Lee campaign.
For bottoms, there is a Black Baggy Jean based on the Levi’s 578™ pattern, designed to stack over the sneakers, and Baggy Shorts in indigo denim. A Denim Cap completes the set.
The campaign, styled by Cam Hicks, was shot in a park featuring various communities. It includes appearances by filmmaker Spike Lee and Jay Wright, the son of an actor from the original “Button Your Fly” commercials. Skaters and artists also feature, highlighting the collection’s connection to different subcultures.

The collection launches globally on February 20th. Specific sneaker editions have staggered releases: the Year of the Horse version in Asia on January 23rd, the Rigid version and apparel in San Francisco for the Super Bowl on February 5th, and the LA Exclusive during NBA All-Star Weekend on February 13th. Products will be available via a 24-hour early access giveaway on Levi’s website before each launch.
