Peter Copping continues his exploration of the modern Lanvin wardrobe with a Spring/Summer 2027 collection rooted in menswear codes, but not bound by them. Familiar archetypes are reformulated with unexpected details. The collection moves beyond the predictable logic of a uniform, celebrating an instinctive approach to dressing defined by colour, ease, and movement.
Copping looked to Surrealism for inspiration, and to the offbeat style of some of its founders, whom Jeanne Lanvin knew personally and dressed. The silhouette that emerges is youthful and relaxed. Proportions are easy, lines elongated, fabrics fluid. Comfort holds without surrendering sophistication. At the heart of the collection lies a dialogue between structure and fluidity. Tailoring remains central but softened. Double-breasted jackets and relaxed trousers are cut in lightweight wools, washed silks, and textured cottons that move with the body. Crinkled finishes carry a quiet familiarity, as though each piece had already gathered a history.
Utility garments form another pillar. Parkas, safari jackets, workwear trousers, jumpsuits, and trench coats are recast in refined fabrics where the practical and the elegant meet on equal terms. The palette is grounded in navy, black, khaki, and beige, lifted by accents of pink and blue.
Marking the 100th anniversary of Lanvin Menswear, the maison unveils a capsule created with British knitwear maker John Smedley. Striped knits carry discreet Lanvin signatures. Shirts are softly structured with textured collars. Fine-gauge sweaters are animated by archival chevron motifs, settling naturally into the collection’s universe. Accessories follow the same instinct: polished loafers, lightweight sneakers, and reimagined versions of the LNV2 and Pencil Cat bags.
