For Fall/Winter 2026, Lacoste returned to its sporting roots where the show unfolded across the iconic Philippe Chatrier Court. Under the direction of creative director Pelagia Kolotouros, the collection “Washed Out Match” revisited a defining moment in the career of founder René Lacoste, his rain-delayed Davis Cup match in 1923.

Waterproof tracksuits, laminated technical wool coats, and oversized poncho silhouettes reimagined the brand’s tennis heritage. Classic Lacoste staples from polo shirts, cable-knit sweaters, and the tracksuit were reworked in high-performance fabrics, layered beneath voluminous nylon shells with reflective or wet-look finishes. The crocodile emblem appeared throughout in embroidered interpretations and archival-inspired variations, reinforcing the brand’s deep ties to its history.

A standout moment came through Lacoste’s collaboration with Mackintosh, whose signature rubberised cotton and hand-sealed construction elevated the collection’s weatherproof narrative. Accessories expanded the sporting vocabulary, from Grand Slam graphic tees and vintage-style trophy pins to a digital watch with an elastic strap. In tones shifting from stormy greys to clay-court rust and rain-washed green. Recently some Americans told me that they never see the French wear athleisure, I told them they do all the time especially Lacoste. Then it took me a moment to realize just how chic of a wardrobe Kolotouros delivers balancing sport, utilitarian, and tailoring. And the rain friendly hats this season are the chicest yet.
