Lacoste and Mackintosh Unveil a Twelve-Piece Capsule
by Adriano Batista
Lacoste and Mackintosh have come together on a capsule collection, first unveiled during the Fall/Winter 2026 show on centre court at Roland-Garros. Designed under the creative direction of Pelagia Kolotouros, Lacoste’s Creative Director, the project unites two houses bound by a shared spirit of innovation, rooted in the legacies of René Lacoste and Charles Macintosh.
The collection includes a polo poncho, a trench dress, a tracksuit-inspired overshirt, a belted pleated skirt, a minimalist coat, a drop-waist trench coat, and a blouson with adjustable cuffs. Each piece is crafted from Mackintosh’s rubberised waterproof cotton, featuring a layer of liquid rubber bonded between two layers of fabric.
The silhouettes are enriched with details including co-branded buttons inspired by the runway palette, a tonal fabric crocodile in Fawn Beige, hanging chains with a metallic crocodile charm, oversized labels, and large pockets. Mackintosh’s signature waterproof tape runs through the collection as a recurring motif, applied in white over interior seams and black on cuffs and hems, evoking the graphic lines of a tennis court. The iconic Lenglen bag is reinterpreted in two versions crafted from the same bonded cotton, alongside accessories including a racket cover and leather charms inspired by Lacoste’s archives and Mackintosh care labels.
