Kiko Kostadinov and ASICS have a new shoe together. The ILARGI FF takes its shape from traditional Japanese Tabi socks, with a split-toe design that lets the foot move naturally.

The idea goes back. ASICS made a Tabi marathon shoe in Japan during the 1950s. This version pulls from that history but uses modern materials and construction. The silhouette is lightweight. The fit is meant to be comfortable.

The shoe launches alongside something else. Ryan Trecartin, an American artist, has a project called “BUCKLE YUP” that debuts at the same time. He shot a series of experimental films across Tokyo and Okinawa. Multiple chapters will roll out through 2026. The project looks at fashion, visual art, and commercial culture and how they sit together now.

The collaboration between Kostadinov and ASICS has been going for nearly a decade. More Tabi shoes are coming in the months ahead.

The ILARGI FF is available at Kiko Kostadinov stores and online. General sales begin March 7. “BUCKLE YUP” will have events in Los Angeles, Tokyo, and London tied to each chapter throughout the year.
