For its eighth collection, Jeanne Friot is calling for awareness. The Fall/Winter 2026 show is titled AWAKE, a response to what the brand sees as a bleak political climate. It cites the rollback of LGBTQIA+ and racialized rights in the U.S. and Europe as a paralyzing force.

In reaction, the collection embraces movement and the body as a political space. The show featured choreography by Maud Le Pladec, performed by dancers from the Ballet de Lorraine. The idea is that when words fail, expression must pass through the body. Dance is framed not as an escape, but as a strategic space where norms can shift and bodies be reimagined. It echoes the brand’s first collection in 2022, which centered on queer celebration and nightlife as vital spaces of freedom.

The show is presented as a moment of spectacle and joy, not to deny the present, but to gather strength from it. The brand’s statement argues that in times of regression, collective action and community are essential forms of resistance. The goal is to respond to exclusion by building more inclusive futures.
