Introducing: SIMBOLIC
by Edu Garcia Llamas
Born from intuition and material residue, SIMBOLIC is less a jewelry brand than a slow, deliberate language of construction. Created by Matios N., the project emerged almost accidentally: discarded elements from past productions, a silicone suit studded with piercings, loose chains and acrylic beads became the raw matter for experimentation. What began as play — assembling necklaces for imaginary characters — soon crystallised into something deeply personal.
One of those early pieces stayed with him, worn daily until it fused with his identity. Strangers asked where it was from; the answer — I made it — became the quiet catalyst for everything that followed.
At the core of SIMBOLIC is repetition as meditation. Each piece is built ring by ring, piercing by piercing, through a process that demands absolute precision. A single misaligned element can collapse the entire structure. This attention to detail gives the work its unmistakable presence: cold, controlled, almost distant — yet charged with intent. The aesthetic is restrained but intense, defined by tension, symmetry and volume rather than ornament.
Stainless steel is the material of choice. Hypoallergenic, resistant, unyielding. It doesn’t fade or oxidise; it endures. There is something deeply aligned in that permanence — objects meant not to decorate, but to accompany. SIMBOLIC pieces are designed to exist with the body, adapting to different uses and contexts: worn at the neck, around the waist, attached to a bag, or simply carried as an object of presence. Operating on an on-demand model, each piece is handmade over seven working days, reinforcing a slower, more conscious relationship between maker and wearer. The dialogue often continues through Instagram, where proportions, intentions and details are discussed directly — collapsing the distance between production and consumption.
SIMBOLIC exists somewhere between jewelry, armor and structure. It reflects a mental state as much as a design philosophy: calm, obsessive, focused. In a culture of speed and excess, it insists on time, weight and intention — asking not to be noticed, but felt.
