For Spring/Summer 2027, HELIOT EMIL creative director Julius Juul presents TROXLER, a collection named after the Troxler effect, an optical phenomenon in which the brain gradually stops noticing objects that remain unchanged within our field of vision. Through a series of interchangeable pieces, the collection investigates how perception is shaped by familiarity, examining the way repeated exposure causes even the most considered details to fade into the background. TROXLER encourages a renewed appreciation of the everyday, demonstrating how a subtle shift in perspective can reveal the hidden complexity within familiar garments.

This philosophy is reflected in the collection’s meticulous construction. Industrial metal reinforcements highlight collars, cuffs, seams and joints that would otherwise go unnoticed, while magnetic closures replace traditional zippers and buttons, offering interchangeable styling options that allow garments to be worn in multiple ways. Repeated patterns with elements deliberately removed create visual interruptions that challenge the eye’s expectation of continuity, while blurred graphics capture the fleeting moment before an image dissolves. Together, these design choices invite the wearer to slow down and look again, transforming overlooked details into defining features and reinforcing HELIOT EMIL’s signature fusion of technical innovation, functionality and minimalist design.
