Haderlump Atelier Berlin Spring/Summer 2027
by Adriano Batista
Haderlump Atelier Berlin presented ATRIUM for Spring/Summer 2027 in the Grand Palais Room of Hotel Adlon Kempinski, during Berlin Fashion Week. Before the first model walked, the scene in the palatial hall already mirrored the collection’s premise: bodies finding their place beneath chandelier light, institutional grandeur disrupted by subversion.
The collection unfolds across 28 characters, each with a distinct backstory: the concierge, the bellman, a nightwanderer wrapped in a blanket. The looks draw from the attire of staff and guests of grand hotels in the 1930s, forming the anatomy of an institution built on status and the quiet alienation of people who cross paths daily without truly meeting.
Waxed denim and crushed cotton twill sit alongside hand-painted prints manipulated into abstraction. Frayed edges introduce grit, appearing next to purple jacquard with an organic swirl. Tweed is recast as men’s shorts. Hoods, raglan shoulders, exposed waists, and shorter hemlines articulate Haderlump’s language. Light blue denim returns as a field of experimentation, with the selvedge deliberately exposed in a draped dress inspired by a bedsheet hastily wrapped around the body. Silver cutlery shapes silhouettes. The key becomes a recurring motif across knitted tops and blazer closures. Button lines drawn from the concierge’s uniform run through coats and dresses. The signature wrinkled sleeve is joined by a new rounded silhouette for outerwear.
Accessories include broad belts with metal hardware worn at different heights, gaiters layered over footwear, and handbags strung with cord straps. Two new shoe styles were unveiled in collaboration with Matthias Winkler, both leather boots. Converse provided additional footwear, with select styles reworked by Winkler. Wempe continued as the exclusive jewellery partner.
