Gucci has opened a new exhibition called Gucci Storia at Palazzo Gucci in Florence. The palazzo is located in the historic Palazzo della Mercanzia, a building that dates back to 1337 in the city’s Piazza della Signoria. The exhibition was realized through the vision of Artistic Director Demna, reinterpreting the shared history of the house and its home city, in continuous dialogue with the present.

The exhibition is built around the idea of a museum of museums. There is a portrait gallery that evokes notions of lineage and identity. There is a tapestry gallery that highlights a Florentine craft connected to the house. A cabinet of curiosities displays pieces from the archives. Two rooms focus on the house’s savoir-faire and innovation. There are also cinematic spaces and interactive oracular installations. Each space has its own atmosphere and rhythm, guiding visitors through a sequence of spatial and narrative transitions. Exploring the palazzo means exploring Florence, and with it, the house’s many incarnations. The exhibition reimagines Gucci’s heritage and future as a fluid narrative.

The ground floor of Palazzo Gucci houses an exclusive boutique and the Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura restaurant. The Gucci Giardino, a café and cocktail bar open all day, is located just steps away on the same piazza.

Gucci Storia opened to the public on April 27 at Palazzo Gucci, Piazza della Signoria 10, Florence. More information is available at gucci.com.
