Galerie OM launched in Berlin on 28 May with its first exhibition, Partie Une, introducing a new platform for collectible design. Founded by Moana Thies and Oscar Gröne, the gallery brings together international design perspectives with Berlin’s creative energy, focusing on 20th century design and collectibles. Rather than holding a fixed inventory, the gallery works on a commission-based model, sourcing pieces in close collaboration with collectors and partners.

Curated by creative director Julian Zacharias Eide, Partie Une sets out the gallery’s approach: design as something experienced rather than simply observed. The exhibition moves between iconic and contemporary works, with pieces by Pierre Chareau, Jean Prouvé, Jean Royère, and Ettore Sottsass sitting alongside Maarten Baas, Caroline Keslassy, Martin Margiela, Fabio Novembre, and others. The selection spans nearly a century of design, from Chareau and Prouvé to emerging practitioners like Marten H. Anderson, Lorène Cavagna, and Alex Joncas.

The gallery is built around the idea of creating environments where furniture, objects, and space exist in conversation. Each exhibition pays attention to atmosphere and narrative, with openings kept intentionally intimate to bring together collectors, designers, and creative voices in a more focused setting. Alongside the exhibitions, Galerie OM incorporates live performance, curated food experiences, and sake pairings, reflecting the founders’ broader interest in how design interacts with social experience and sensory perception. The visual language draws in part from Berlin’s darker, rawer creative identity, expressed through material choices, vintage furniture, and a spatial approach inspired by 1970s interiors.

Galerie OM will develop through a series of pop-up exhibitions and cultural events, beginning in Berlin and later expanding to Paris and Milan. Partie Une runs now at the gallery’s Berlin location.
