Études Studio has created a capsule collection with artist Maia Ruth Lee. The collection appears within the brand’s Collection No. 27, which is called Surroundings.

Lee’s work deals with migration and memory across different mediums. For this collaboration, she developed compositions through a process of bundling and painting. Those compositions appear on a selection of garments. The pieces feature two of her compositions.

The motifs suggest sensitive maps. The silhouettes extend the idea of a garment as a space for inscription, sitting between intimate experience and the memory of movement. The collaboration extends the dialogue that Études maintains with contemporary artistic practices. Lee’s research becomes embedded in the fabric of the Études Studio wardrobe. The garment becomes a site for inscription and circulation.
