Études Studio presented Collection No.29, Short Term Eternity, in the Galerie Basse at the Palais de Tokyo. The collection continues the brand’s exploration of the relationship between clothing and environment, turning its attention to the city and its perpetual state of transformation. Graffiti, site-specific interventions, and ephemeral gestures become inspiration. Garments emerge as surfaces marked by traces of movement and change.

The collection borrows its name from the “Art Cards” of Gordon Matta-Clark, the pioneering artist and trained architect whose work in the 1970s questioned notions of permanence and alteration within the urban landscape. Known for radical interventions in buildings destined for demolition, Matta-Clark’s influence runs through the season. His aphoristic notes unfold across a shirt-and-trouser ensemble and resonate through the show’s soundtrack.

Silhouettes move between tailoring and workwear, balancing functionality with elegance. Structured overcoats, softened jackets, and precisely constructed ensembles are designed for movement. Utility details like zippers, technical pockets, and removable elements allow subtle shifts in volume and layering. Tailoring comes in textured blends of virgin wool and viscose, linen, and washed silk. Shirts in Tencel and organic cotton lend lightness. Denim appears in mismatched combinations featuring overdyeing, acid and stone washes, spray applications, and resin finishes. Knitwear explores texture through cotton-nylon blends, jacquards, bouclé wool, and open-knit constructions.
