Dior‘s Cruise 2027 collection takes its cues from the house’s long relationship with Hollywood. A jacket from the Haute Couture Spring/Summer 1949 collection, worn by Marlene Dietrich in Alfred Hitchcock’s Stage Fright, served as one starting point. The Californian poppy provided another. Florals run throughout.

The collection moves through Los Angeles archetypes. For men, sequinned suiting catches the light. Pyjama shirts pair with leather trousers. A series of archetypal American shirts appears in collaboration with artist Ed Ruscha, incorporating elements from his existing works.

New bag silhouettes include a streamlined update of the Saddle, a bucket shape with a Dior Médaillon, and a shoulder bag with a crescent base. Shoes are finished with flowers and sequins. The overall effect is LA as a dream of itself, which is perhaps the city’s most enduring export.
