Sangue Novo “New Blood” at ModaLisboa is the platform integrated within fashion week’s ecosystem to support and discover designers whose work highlights the creative and industrial potential behind the rising influence of “Made in Portugal.”  Five finalist from fashion schools across the country presented their mini-collections to a jury and a wider public audience which included editors, stylists, and the wider fashion community.

This edition was made up of Adja Baio whose genderless pieces explore the fusion of Guinean cultural references within a maximalist streetwear context, Ariana Orrico who notably explores the plasticity of materials, Usual Suspect by Xavier Silva who explores upcycling, along with womenswear designers Mariana Garcia and Mafalda Simões. Photographer Marc Medina captured the energy backstage in this exclusive before the young designers prepared to take their place in the spotlight.
