Carhartt WIP‘s Icons are built on continuity: garments that remain close to the American archetypes that inspired them over a century ago. They are recognisable by their construction: 12 oz Dearborn Canvas or durable denim, triple stitching, metal rivets, and engraved shank buttons and zippers. Hamilton Brown and black remain essential, while the Fall/Winter 2026 palette expands with tobacco and dark navy, available in washed and hard finishes.

The Double Knee Pant draws directly from an archival work pant, with reinforced knees, metal rivets, tool pockets, and a hammer loop. The Single Knee Pant streamlines that silhouette, keeping the triple stitching and tool pockets while removing the knee reinforcements. The Michigan Coat follows the classic chore coat, with a corduroy collar, button-front closure, and patch pockets. The Detroit Jacket takes inspiration from the garage jacket, with a waist-length cut, corduroy collar, welt pockets, and a zip chest pocket.

The Active Jacket, introduced over 50 years ago, was reconstructed from the Hooded Zip Sweatshirt with a reinforced shell and quilted lining. Its drawstring hood, kangaroo pockets, and full zip remain today. The Classic Vest borrows the kangaroo pockets and zip closure from the Active Jacket, adding a ribbed knit collar and longer back hem.

These garments have passed through generations and subcultures without losing their original silhouette. The patterns remain. What changes is what each wearer brings: every wrinkle and crease.
