Camiel Fortgens returned to Amsterdam Fashion Week with a Spring/Summer 2027 show set in an unexpected but familiar place: an Albert Heijn supermarket after closing hours. Shelf stackers continued working as models moved through the aisles like regulars doing their shopping, passing fresh produce and canned goods.

The collection turns garments inside out, exposing construction details, placing prints on the reverse side of fabric, and keeping linings and facings visible. Handmade elements like contrast stitching, raw hems, and repairs show the acts of making. Colour plays a central role, from light pink and forest green to deep burgundy, with washes and overdyes creating the impression of colours bleeding into one another, as if a red sock had been left in the washing machine. References to farmer’s wear and functional outdoor clothing run throughout, with loose linen trousers and woven straw bags adding a relaxed rural feeling.

As always with Camiel Fortgens, imperfection and handwork remain central. Made in Europe from high-quality fabrics, the collection reveals rather than conceals the details that usually stay unseen.
