Camiel Fortgens has released its Spring/Summer 2026 “Research” collection, featuring garments developed from archival pieces that have been deconstructed and reassembled into new forms. Developed outside the traditional seasonal calendar, the collection focuses on experimentation and process.

Raw edges, exposed seams, cut-outs and openings reveal each garment’s construction, placing material and making at the center of the design. The collection explores the value of imperfection, treating garments as evolving objects that change through wear, reuse and reinterpretation.

All pieces are crafted in the Camiel Fortgens studio in Amsterdam, where each garment is handled individually and shaped through manual processes.

Key pieces include the Double Crew Construction, where two crewneck sweatshirts are fused into a single piece with one reworked into a hood. Cut in a boxy fit from medium-weight diagonal sweat, the design retains a visible collar, finished with raw edges and irregular topstitching. The 3 Piece Assembly layers a long-sleeve T-shirt over a short-sleeve, combined with a woven shirt at the back, creating the illusion of multiple garments worn simultaneously.
