Burberry has partnered with Hôtel Belles Rives in Antibes, transforming the historic beach club and hotel terraces for the season. The takeover runs until 30 September.

The hotel is a landmark of the French Riviera. In the early 20th century, it was a gathering place for figures like Ernest Hemingway and Gertrude Stein. F. Scott Fitzgerald lived there while beginning his final novel, Tender Is the Night (1934). In that book, the protagonist wears a Burberry coat. The connection isn’t recent. It’s been sitting there for decades.

Burberry’s own relationship with the coast runs deep. Founder Thomas Burberry looked to the sea for inspiration. During the first half of the 20th century, the house designed technical sailing apparel and tailored pieces for those drawn to the water. The High Summer 2026 collection picks up that thread with Check swimwear and coastal pieces that nod to the brand’s heritage.

For the takeover, Burberry has reworked its Check motif in the hotel’s signature blue, a shade drawn from the Mediterranean at its doorstep. The print appears throughout the interiors, including the original 1920s elevator. Custom logos mark the private pier and beach club doors. The Art Deco glamour of the place remains intact, just reframed.

Guests can have Burberry-branded ice pops on the terrace or watch the sunset at The Fitzgerald Bar. A program of experiences runs all summer, including water skiing in the bay where the sport is said to have started.
