Burberry has updated its classic raincoats with lightweight tropical gabardine, the brand’s lightest fabric, designed for warmer climates. The release marks the house’s 170th anniversary.

The collection includes the Kensington, Waterloo and Fitzrovia trench coats, along with the clean-lined Camden car coat. These come in a seasonal palette of light sugar pink and stone beige, with graphite grey available for men. A cropped version of the Mayfair trench coat adds a tailored touch to the women’s offering, while the men’s Bloomsbury represents Burberry’s take on the classic Harrington jacket.

Thomas Burberry invented the trench coat in 1879. It was immediately recognized for its lightweight, breathable and water-resistant properties. As early as 1893, the fabric was available in different weights to suit the diverse weather conditions customers might encounter in England or abroad. The Tropical Trench Coat continues that tradition of material innovation.

Each garment is crafted from rain-resistant cotton, woven at Burberry’s historic factory in Keighley, West Yorkshire. The lining features the classic archived beige Burberry Check pattern.
