AWGE, the brand creatively directed by A$AP Rocky and developed by a collective, has presented Anti-War Global Economics for Spring/Summer 2027. The title slots into the acronym AWGE and provides a conceptual framework for recognising the recurring forces impacting the world, transcribed into a mix of streetwear, military attire, and luxury.

The collection is a deliberately open-ended manifesto, a line-up born from concert looks that will appear on both the runway and the stage. Against the backdrop of a warship, there are allusions to military uniforms in original and remixed versions: jackets with decorative gold embroidery and their trompe l’œil equivalents on jersey, veils inspired by medieval chainmail now gauzy and graphic, and army green bombers and pants as full-look suiting hybrids.

Elevated by made-in-Italy production, the vibe shifts from punk to playa with wraparound plaid skirts and triple-stacked boxers poking out from pants. Padded vests that seem bulletproof are set into poplin shirts, and a print of mosh pit shirt-heads becomes an abstracted motif in black and white. Petrol detailing runs throughout: knits with slicked sleeves, high-gloss capes, caps that appear dipped in oil, black varnish as both substance and statement. Bills become ornamentation, with Benjamins placed down pant legs and splaying out as handheld fans.

In AWGE fashion, army boots are counterbalanced by Louboutins. Through Rocky’s partnership with PUMA, new and unreleased Straycat sneakers and the Puma Suede in navy debuted on the runway, slated for release later this year. As Creative Director of Ray-Ban, he also advanced designs including lightweight frames and lenses in reflective material, semi-frameless aviators, and brightly hued frames with elasticised bands.
