AWARE’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection is named Cévennes, after a mountain region in south-central France. The name evokes a specific image: people gathering around a shared meal in the countryside, drawn together by warmth and community. Yet the collection also holds another feeling in mind, one drawn from the French film Code Unknown: the coldness and alienation of city life, where human encounters are marked by silence and misunderstanding.

This tension is the starting point. The collection explores the balance between openness and concealment that defines such gatherings. Around a table, there is food and exchanged stories, but each person also holds private thoughts and unspoken secrets. The clothes reflect this duality. They feature multiple hidden pockets designed for concealment, not display. These details allow the wearer to engage with the world while maintaining a personal boundary, preserving a quiet inner space.

The functional heart of the collection draws from the work of Japanese designer Masayuki Kurokawa, specifically his “GOM” series which fuses black rubber with elastic resilience. AWARE translates this idea into extensive stretch elements. Elastic bands and flexible details are placed strategically throughout the garments. This grants the clothing a fluid adaptability, enduring comfort, and a sense of seamless movement with the body’s own rhythms.
