There’s a new frequency humming out of Seoul, and it’s called Alpha Drive One (ALD1 for fans). Formed on the high-stakes reality series Boys II Planet, they just debuted their first mini-album Euphoria. If you are looking for the next-gen K-pop, then look no further. We caught up with them during Paris Fashion Week signaling their growing influence beyond music and into the global fashion scene. As the official ambassadors of Concept Korean only furthers strengthening the cultural scene where K-fashion and K-pop collide. Concept Korea launched at New York Fashion Week in 2010, but this seasons marks their fourth at Paris Fashion Week.

Alpha Drive One at Korea Concept in RE RHEE captured by Thomas Lizzi

Seated front row at the group show featuring RE RHEE and BONBOM the group attracted significant attention from photographers, fashion insiders, and fans gathered at the venue. Their appearance marked both the group’s debut at Paris Fashion Week and their first time attending a fashion show. Following the show, we got the chance to chat with the group, while one took on the role of being a translator, everyone else did magically know exactly what to order at a boulangerie, which is probably the most important thing in the fashion capital outside of a show!

If someone was discovering ALD1 for the first time, what track would you want them to hear first?

Start with our title track Freak Alarm because it’s the song that kind of epitomizes us.

What are you most excited to see at Paris Fashion Week?

Obviously the RE RHEE and BONBOM show! The collection was so amazing and we are so happy to be here, we love the pieces and are wearing the designers now. We are grateful and honored to be in this space and be the ambassadors of Concept Korea.

What makes K-Fashion unique?

The diversity of designs and designers is the main appeal of Korean Fashion, there isn’t one style.

What is something you always pack when traveling?

Scarves! Scarves are definitely a must along with skincare, always travel with a basic skincare routine.

Besides fashion, food is a must in France, what is your favourite French food?

I love croissant, but I also love baguettes. I haven’t tried escargot, so I’m really curious and hopefully will try on this trip. And also, can’t forget onion soup, its so good.

What is your go-to karaoke song?

Crooked by G-Dragon and Freak Alarm!

Quick last question, can you reveal about where you are heading next?

We are working on releasing new music and hopefully will be back in Paris soon!
