ASICS Sportstyle and VandyThePink have teamed up on a collaboration built around memory and identity. The project introduces two colourways of the GEL-KAYANO 12.1, a silhouette that has long been a favourite of founder Vandy Son. Inspired by his first 17 years in Korea and the 20 years since in America, the collection tells the story of two cultures through small details that often go unnoticed.

At the centre of the project is a tribute to Aiseu-Keki, the Korean term for frozen treats sold by neighbourhood vendors on hot summer afternoons. For many Koreans, it represents carefree summers and early childhood memories. Vandy experienced those moments before moving to the United States at seventeen, and throughout his career he has turned everyday nostalgia into collectible design. This collaboration continues that approach, celebrating a piece of Korean culture while introducing its story to a global audience.

The Vanilla colourway receives a global release through select ASICS retailers, while the Chocolate edition is available exclusively through VandyThePink channels, making it the rarest expression of the project. Hidden references to Korean culture appear throughout the footwear and packaging, marking the first time Hangul has been incorporated onto a GEL-KAYANO 12.1. Phrases on the shoes and details on the box reward those who look closer.
