ASICS SportStyle has once again partnered with EMPTY BEHAVIOR, this time on a new shoe called the HYPERSYNC. The collaboration revisits a low-profile silhouette under the theme “Powerette,” a word that fuses strength with classical dance. The suffix “-ette,” often associated with female dancers, hints at where the design is coming from.

The shoe takes inspiration from wrestling footwear, but it pulls just as much from the poise and control of classical court performance. The idea was to translate explosive power into something more refined, starting from the pivot of the foot and working upward. The result is a silhouette that moves between grounded strength and fluid movement, between the arena and the stage.

The design team drew from classical dance skirts and ruff collars, working pleating and soft textile textures into the shoe’s functional shape. The tongue carries a shirring technique in satin, nodding to dancewear while a built-in elastic structure improves fit. The lateral ASICS Stripes are pleated, secured by central double-stitching and fanning out into a layered look. It’s a sneaker built on contrast: rugged structure meeting softer, more decorative elements.

The HYPERSYNC comes in white/silver and black/pink, using chiaroscuro to deepen the visual tension between classic and modern. The campaign was shot by Daniel Roché on the streets of Paris. Check it out below:
