Armani Beauty Brings Its Male Ambassadors, Including Carlos Sainz Jr., Into the Spotlight at Venice
by Anna Barr
For the ninth consecutive year, Armani beauty returns to the Venice International Film Festival as its Official Beauty Sponsor, bringing together a global cast of ambassadors from film, fashion, music and sport. Among the faces representing the house this year, its male ambassadors take center stage, reflecting Armani beauty’s increasingly multifaceted vision of contemporary masculinity. Actors Jonathan Bailey and Nicholas Galitzine join the brand’s cinematic universe, alongside Keith Powers and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, while musician Jackson Wang and Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz Jr. bring their own worlds and perspectives to the house.

The festival also mark the fragrance’s launch with a private screening of its campaign film, directed by Academy Award nominee Todd Field, at the Armani Cinema Club. Armani’s relationship with cinema dates back to 1980, when Giorgio Armani created Richard Gere’s now-iconic wardrobe for American Gigolo, and has since extended to more than 100 films, including The Untouchables, The Dark Knight and The Wolf of Wall Street. Bailey’s connection to the fragrance extends naturally into Armani’s long relationship with cinema, with the actor describing storytelling as a shared experience capable of bringing people together and allowing us to see the world through someone else’s eyes.

And while Venice brought together some of the biggest names in cinema, fashion, music and sport, we also caught up with Carlos Sainz Jr., who has just been announced as the Giorgio Armani Spain Fragrance Ambassador for I WILL Eau de Parfum, Armani’s newest male fragrance. Sainz is a Spanish Formula 1 driver, best known for his career racing at the highest level of motorsport. We put the driver through a quick-fire round to find out more about the man behind the helmet, his relationship with fragrance and what makes him say I WILL.
