Having built a global community around afro-house from Brooklyn to Berlin, AMÉMÉ’s record label One Tribe is set to embark on a five-date residency at Ibiza’s iconic Cova Santa. Running every Thursday from July 30 to August 27, the series marks the collective’s first dedicated home on the island, bringing together a rotating cast of artists from the wider One Tribe family. Founded by Benin-born, Brooklyn-based DJ and producer AMÉMÉ, One Tribe has become synonymous with community-driven events and a sound rooted in Afro-leaning electronic music, with flourishes of tribal percussion and spiritual vocals built upon a foundation of contemporary deep house and tech. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Cova Santa’s open-air terrace and ancient cave, the residency builds on previous One Tribe showcases in Ibiza and follows celebrated events everywhere from Art Basel Miami and Amsterdam Dance Event to Berlin’s Rave The Planet and New York’s Knockdown Center.
“One Tribe is more than just a name, it’s a community,” says AMÉMÉ. “This summer, Cova Santa becomes our new home for a special five-night residency on the island. Joined by artists we love from around the world, each night brings the energy, passion and creativity that has become synonymous with the name.”
Born Hubert Sodogandji in Benin, West Africa, AMÉMÉ founded One Tribe in Brooklyn in 2017 with the mission of building connections through afro-house. Since then, both the event series and label have grown into an international platform championing emerging and established talent across afro-house, organic house and downtempo electronic music. One Tribe Records has earned support from the likes of Black Coffee, CamelPhat, BLOND:ISH and Marco Carola, while its releases have helped establish the label as one of Beatport’s leading afro-house imprints. Blending his Beninese roots with influences gathered across continents, he has taken his sound to some of the world’s leading electronic music epicentres, including Coachella, Burning Man, Tomorrowland, EDC, Awakenings, Creamfields and now summer at the visually striking Cova Santa.
