AMBUSH and Lexus have introduced The Future Classic Club, a collective celebrating the people, objects, and ideas that outlast the moment. Debuting through a cinematic film and a limited capsule collection, the Club offers a counterpoint to the endless pursuit of what’s next, spotlighting those who create what will endure.
The project comes from two brands rooted in Japanese culture and design, united by a shared belief in bold ideas and craftsmanship. AMBUSH, founded by designer Yoon Ahn and musician VERBAL, emerged from Tokyo’s creative underground and has grown into a global force across fashion, music, and culture. That same spirit is reflected in the Lexus IS, which has challenged conventions around what a luxury car could be for 25 years. “Its enduring relevance reminds us that true originality is never defined by a moment,” said Lisa McQueen, senior manager at Lexus marketing.
The film, directed by Xavier Tera, traces the influence of the IS across two eras of Tokyo, moving from an early-2000s salaryman world to contemporary Tokyo. It introduces three Club members whose paths reflect its spirit: Sara Choi, professional drifter and founder of Badseki; Reo Sano, artist, actor, and dancer; and Reiji Okamoto, musician and DJ. Designed under the creative direction of Yoon Ahn, the collection translates the design language of the IS into apparel and hardware accessories. “Japan’s creative identity has always been grounded in longevity and craft,” said Ahn. “With The Future Classic Club collection, we translated that precision into wearable hardware and garments designed to become more meaningful with time.”
