Agustina Spring/Summer 2026
by Adriano Batista
Peruvian brand Agustina has introduced its first menswear collection, titled IAYA, for Spring/Summer 2026. This launch expands the brand’s universe, focusing on a contemporary reflection of territory, masculinity, and craft.
The name IAYA comes from Andean cosmology. It refers to a protective presence connected to the land. In this collection, the idea translates into a study of structure and balance. Masculinity is expressed through restraint, material quality, and construction, rather than excess.
The collection was developed through territorial research along Peru’s central coast. It was crafted in collaboration with artisan communities. These include weavers from the high altitude Colca Valley and women artisans in Manchay, outside Lima, who preserve hand weaving and embroidery techniques. The work prioritizes manual processes and the transmission of generational knowledge.
Material innovation is central. In collaboration with the accessories brand Biaróh, the collection uses fish leather made from corvina. This biomaterial is sourced from local fishing by products that are typically discarded. The line also incorporates recovered yarns donated by Tren Perú, reflecting a commitment to conscious production.
The core philosophy is that the land is a teacher and the artisans are masters. By aligning these forces, the collection aims to exist beyond seasonal trends. It positions menswear as a cultural expression, rooted in authenticity and contemporary relevance.
