Acne Studios has opened a new store in New York City’s Meatpacking District, positioned next to the High Line and across from the Whitney Museum. The location called for openness, achieved through an expansive glass façade that animates the street front.

Designed by creative director Jonny Johansson and Swedish architecture studio Halleroed, the interior continues the brand’s global store ethos with an expressive materiality. Pink granite runs throughout, a reference to the brand’s signature hue, with a rough, flamed finish that nods to the neighbourhood’s industrial past. The space is arranged in a grid, with monolithic columns clad in stone or mirror recalling American minimalism.

Furnishings invite guests to linger. Max Lamb, a longtime collaborator, has created undulating leather sofas and armchairs that appear alongside wooden stools, chairs, and daybeds arranged like furniture in a home. Soft pink carpets add warmth, balancing the public engagement of the storefront with a sense of domestic comfort. The location also features an Acne Paper library with an evolving curation of art and fashion titles, visible from the street and inviting passers-by to sit and browse.
