The Spring/Summer 2017 collection is a amalgamation of the previous Mai-Gidah collections further exploring the theme of pocketing and layering.

Researching and developing references that deal with identity, culture and representation of society within contemporary art such as Jacob Lawrence, Kerry James Marshall and Kehinde Wiley. The black silhouettes recurring in the clothes are a direct translation of Kerry James Marshall’s paintings. The human silhouettes also illustrate how art depicts and deals with minorities.
