Mafalda Fonseca presented her Fall/Winter 2016 collection during PortugalFashion. The collection sprang from idea of ‘tilling’ all the components of the garments. Mafalda decided to tessellate geometric shapes of different fabrics with contrasting colours and textures, to create a illusion of a modern and balanced tilling puzzle. It is all about the mixing of materials with different textures and weight as leather, fur, wool and knitwear.
Taking inspiration from English royalty and Kings’ scandals of abdications to the art paint and costumes of Ainou and African tribes or even from their own experience of brotherhood, Valentin and Florentin Glémarec explored family, power games and a affiliation.
