Komakino Spring/Summer 2015 collections’ references spans from utility wear and tailoring to sportswear, with a particular reference to the Japanese cyberpunk scene – it builds on the relentless vocabulary of the label, a fusion of counterculture references, youth codes and tailoring.

The English based, Italian manufactured label presents a collection in which Street mannerism combines with the language of tailoring to build the foundation of the collection. Basketball shorts, realised in sartorial wool, keep the game’s silhouette when paired with a shirt and suit jacket. MA-1s jacket, coat and suiting are reinterpreted with fabric contrast – light wool, cotton and nylons are mixed with colourful details. Biopsy cut-out jackets and shirts with contest colour fold, utility intervention keep a more constructed silhouette paired with exaggerated volumes and oversized coats and sweatpants. Incision detail on tops, with sliced elbow articulation. Amidst this multilayered reworking of semiotics, signature prints and embroideries (High Tech Low Life) runs throughout the collection.
