For Spring/Summer 2014 Kielo; drew inspiration from the 1920’s Art Deco painter Tamara de Lempicka and her troubled life, especially in her relationship with her husband(s) and loss of her beauty and talent. They portrayed the life of an imaginary painter couple who in their earlier years of life are confident because of their youth and talent, but loses their competence and viridity through aging like Tamara herself. However, instead of denying or defying one’s natural deterioration, the couple learns to gracefully embrace and accept aging as natural beauty.

To express the mentioned idea, kielo; created garments based on an artist’s wardrobe and classical pajamas imagining what he would wear while working in his atelier. They also worked with hand-drawn print motifs which portray fruits, vegetables, and animals captured during hunting in a decadent state (they are deteriorating) like that of a still life painting.
