Called “State Of Mine”, this is the debut collection from Lukas Neo. It’s an exploration of raw emotions, sexuality, nerves, and stillness all at the same time.
For FW16, the designer tried to design a renewed uniform; the manifestation of femininity set against the male form. Through the focus on silhouette and proportions, the collection takes inspiration from the motional relationship between body and clothes, drawing ideas from architectural sensibilities, such as negative space.
“What became important to me was to convey the physical embodiment of emotions, like wearing a coat for the very first time after a long summer – a state of melancholy and power, rolled into one. These emotions would come to be the key to my aesthetic for this collection – my State Of Mine.” – Lukas Neo
“Essentials is the perfect blend of product and culture from a brand like Converse. Focussed around classic sportswear items, redefined for streetwear….it mirrors the story of Converse as a brand, born in sport, raised by the streets.”
For the Fall/Winter 2017 collection, Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki, co-founders and artistic directors of Maison Kitsuné, drew their inspiration from American pop culture and the aesthetic and creative energie of New York born, Paris based, artist William Klein.
