Sunglasses brand Etnia Barcelona and Reebok Classic teamed up to say goodbye to Summer in a very special way: the Brunch Before Brunch.

Just a few months ago, Reebok Classic and Etnia collaborated together for the first time on the occasion of the opening of the new flagship store of Etnia in Barcelona’s Born district, where Reebok put the staff of the store with the iconic model Club C. A silhouette born in the tennis courts in the 80’s and which, over time, has become an urban icon.

Now, with the end of the summer festival season, both brands are coming together one more time at the “Brunch in the Park“, an outdoor music festival of which Reebok Classic is one of its exclusive sponsors. On the occasion of the closing of the festival in Barcelona, Etnia and Reebok organized a farewell brunch with media and influencers on the terrace of the flagship store of Etnia, in the heart of Born.

The guests were able to enjoy a sunny day with music by the hand of DJ Luishøck. They all wore Reebok Classic Club C shoes and Etnia Barcelona x Basquiat goggles, the perfect urban kit to get carried away in one of the most original and most successful recent music festivals.

The Basquiat collection of Etnia Barcelona is an exclusive collection of sunglasses composed of four models that show patterns constructed from three original works of the artist of Brooklyn, that make of each one of the models of this capsule a unique, differentiated piece of the others, with a common denominator: three vertices that recall the three points of his iconic crown, his artistic legacy. Like Basquiat’s works, this collection conveys the transgressive, powerful and emotional aspects of his work that made the artist one of the most important figures in contemporary culture and art.

The Reebok Club C 85, is a silhouette born in the tennis courts in 1985 also known as “Club Champion”, an icon of the street style. The Club C is a true contemporary classic that has survived over time thanks to a timeless style full of personality. This design is inspired by the aesthetics overbranded that caused so much fury in the 90s. In this way, Club C reinvents once again combining retro with an urban and contemporary look that does not forget its roots. A shoe for people who stomp on their court, whatever. A shoe for people who play to win.

Alexandra Moura presented her Spring/Summer 2018 collection during London Fashion Week. Titled “Within The Time Within“, the collection was inspired by the deteriorated interiors of eighteenth-century Portuguese palaces, manor houses and garments from the same period. Focusing on the signs that time leaves behind, materializing it through an innovative approach that brings the inside out and reveals the soul and glory of the past.

Ground Zero is a Hong Kong-based progressive, design-forward fashion brand founded by brothers Eri and Philip Chu. Their work is influenced by the traditional Asian culture combined with a high-end street style element.

For their Fall/Winter 2017 campaign Ground Zero has teamed with Georgia Pendlebury, Mia Dabrowski and Florence Tetier. The collection is based on the concept of speed and how to show another vision of it, a reminiscence of the two brothers catching a bus at midnight in the early 90s. The silhouette speaks to the movement of the clothing when they were running.

The Asian symbolism is always present in Ground Zero too, they wanted to explore the roots of the brand but also combine it with a piece of their culture: martial arts. The campaign pictures and videos have been shot in Senegal, Africa, with street casted models. Georgia and Mia both wanted to do this series for some time now, by seeing the boys in the evening practicing karate on the secluded beaches. Ground Zero has sticked perfectly to the idea. They went to Senegal to find that contrast, shooting in gigantic stone pits, lagoons; moving from Thies to Mbodiène playing Senegalese hits in the middle of the desert. The aesthetic of martial art communicates its influences nowhere more clearly than in a total decontextualizing place.

This is maybe the DNA of the brand, starting with a piece of the designer’s culture, and re-interpreting it.

Vasilis Loizides is a menswear designer seeking answers to what comes after traditional menswear by twisting modern notions of masculinity into a new reality that positions men as both villain and hostage. The Spring/Summer 2018 collection follows a Stockholm Syndrome series of events built on the premise that masculinity has captured itself.

The collection, and Vasilis’ design aesthetic in general, plays with masculinity by confronting themes of dominance, sexuality and gender identity. There are playful moments of criticism (exposed male cleavage in a dress or flouncy, pearl-embroidered chaps) and whimsical twists on restraint, like sleeves that cover the hands or a top that constricts the wearer from moving their arms altogether. Our goal is to create a brand that demonstrates our belief that masculinity includes a diverse range of gender, sexual, and racial identities.

Mannisto

The most promising names on Finland’s new fashion scenario will be the stars of the Guest Nation project sponsored by the Fondazione Pitti Immagine Discovery during Pitti Immagine Uomo 93 (Florence, 9-12 January 2018).

Eight Finnish brands and designers have been chosen to present their collections in the special area of the Spazio Carra (Main Pavilion – Lower Level) of the Fortezza da Basso, and also during an event in town during Pitti Uomo.

The names of the GUEST NATION FINLAND participants are: Mannisto (Julia Männistö), Viner Articles (Heikki Salonen), Nomen Nescio, Saint Vacant, Formal Friday (Teemu Muurimäki), Ikla Wright x Turo, Maria Korkeila x R-Collection, and Rolf Ekroth.

The eight brands represent the most interesting and promising Finnish menswear brands. There are rewarded young designers graduated from Aalto University like Rolf Ekroth and Julia Männistö’s Mannisto label and more established brands like urban workwear brand Formal Friday, classic shoe brand Saint Vacant and minimalistic Nomen Nescio. The Finnish heritage brands Turo and R-Collection are showcasing collaborations with young designers. Turo will collaborate with a London based Finnish designer Ikla Wright. R-Collection will show in Pitti a capsule collection realised by an internationally renowed young designer Maria Korkeila. Finnish Heikki Salonen, launches his new men’s wear brand Vyner Articles in Pitti.
