Tunisia is complex and simple at the same time. It can be African, North African, Arab and Mediterranean all at the same time. For its tenth anniversary, Tunis Fashion Week was full of the glitz and glamour where you would expect Brüno front row or backstage, but at the same time, it’s a place where many young designers like Le collection National by Hedi Benma and Blue Twins decided to focus on something as simple and gender neutral as classic denim.

This is a good direction for Tunisia, where they were mostly known for providing fabrics before China entered the market and now are shifting to design. The region is particularly of interest with more graduates each year from Tunis’ ESMOD, it is also one of the most modern countries in this place of the world and the youth are making their own mark on streetwear, music, and pop culture.
