For COMMON Spring/Summer 2014, Saif Bakir and Emma Hedlund presented a sophisticated high-tech collection, focused on lightweight traveling and leisure wear. Sporty fabrics and athletic cuts make the collection youthful and energetic in spirit and versatile in everyday practice. Bakir and Hedlund looked towards the late photographer Luke Smalley’s work, and especially in his first photo book “Gymnasium“, in which Smalley mixes minimalism with nostalgia.
For SS14, COMMON incorporates the graphic art of Swedish-born, New York-based graffiti artist Rubin.
For the Fall/Winter 2017 collection, Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki, co-founders and artistic directors of Maison Kitsuné, drew their inspiration from American pop culture and the aesthetic and creative energie of New York born, Paris based, artist William Klein.
