SS15 is the second BRAND8 collection by designer Kristina Søndergaard who has previously designed for successful Danish brands such as Norse Projects, Wood Wood and Mads Nørgaard. In the hands of Søndergaard BRAND8 continues to offer casual basic menswear for modern everyday life, focusing on quality, functionality and simplicity, stirred by a twisted turn of proportions and shapes.
Titled “AFRICAN BAUHAUS”, the collection combines inspirations from ethnic African textiles and Bauhaus abstract compositions. Similarities and differences come together with an expression of sport in joined diversity. Tribal geometric allover prints and a vivid palette of bright shades. Colour and fabric blocking. Dry summer knits and double faced jerseys mingle with lightweight tech fabrics. Soft-shell and fleece, cotton/nylons and mesh add a crisp athletic texture to the urban dandy aesthetic for common people.
