Bernhard Willhelm unveiled his Fall/Winter 2016 collection titled “MAGIC POTATO”. Willhelm challenges us to (re)discover a post-capitalist, anarchistic and self-activated punk state of ZEN, and brings to light teachings that prompt corrective tools for a heightened sense of CONCIOUSNESS, PRESENCE and IDENTITY, furthering the designer’s commentary on the present and future state of humanity and cross-disciplinary approach to Post Modernism.

The MAGIC POTATO functions as a lead emblem, narrating Eastern spiritual, religious and traditional references, as well as mysticism and figurative portrayals, with velvet red and cadmium orange as lead colors. The MAGIC POTATO reveals itself in embroideries, prints and multiple hangtags, as well as through potato bag shaped wizard-like hats. We see the appearance of the pinecone – representing human enlightenment and the Third Eye – manifested through unique headpieces, and also get a much welcome revisit from the Cockatoo bird.
